We supply technical seeds to Piedmontese and Northern Italian farmers for the reproduction of first-choice cereals. Every year we offer our customers new varieties, result of the research of Italian and foreign brewers with whom we have been collaborating regularly for several years.
We carefully and professionally select our seeds using a state-of-the-art technological system composed of precision machinery. All this with the aim of obtaining a product in a workmanlike manner.
From ancient times until today seed processing has constantly been evolving. From manual seed selection and separation, we have now reached a highly sophisticated processing.
By investing in technology and innovation, Adaglio Sementi achieved a technologically advanced seed selection and packaging plant that allows to select, using a single production line, 160 quintals of product per hour.
We have always supported the farmer in his choices, carefully following the development of crops at various stages. Thanks to our company’s know-how and the collaborations with leading seed firms, we provide useful consultation and excellent products, from seed, to fertilizers, to phytochemicals.
The seed we select comes from Piedmontese growers, or from other regions of Northern Italy, with which we annualy stipulate a multiplication agreement, following our supply of technical Italian and French seeds.
Regarding the seed selection operations, we have an automated, computerized and extremely advanced system, so it is for the optical sorting system too.
In fact, our production plant has been expanded with the new Sea-Chrome optical sorter. This trichromatic optical sorter is equipped with full-color RGB cameras and a LED lighting system that allows to identify any slight difference in color and shade or geometric shape of the seed.
Adaglio Sementi guarantees a certified and high quality product, recognizable throughout the national territory.
Seed treatment and seed coating are the other strong points of our production. We treat the seed safely using the Cimbria Heid CC150 coating machine. We dose with absolute precision and uniformity the quantity of fungicide needed, ad it allows us to enhance the characteristics of the coating agent used.
We are also pioneers in using the CET M seed film. For several years we have been coating our products to ensure a more homogeneous coverage of the seed, making it less dusty and smoother even during sowing operations.
Adaglio Sementi has its own analysis laboratory, equipped with modern measuring instruments, such as the Binder germinator and the NIR spectrometer (Infratech 124 Grain Analyzer).
With these devices we analyze in detail the qualitative characteristics of the product in terms of varietal purity, germination, specific weight, level of proteins and yellow index for durum wheat.
In this way, with the checks carried out, we ensure the high quality of the product placed on the market.
The same care and attention paid to the selection and treatment of seeds are given to the packaging. Technological efficiency is a key element of the entire bagging process. For this reason Adaglio Sementi is equipped with a unique and customized packaging system, which facilitates the safe transport of seeds: from the weighing system (hygienic, precise and fast), to the filling and closing automatisms of the bags of various types.
We always use new pallets, sustainable packaging, and robust and resistant packaging, to ensure maximum protection for the product that the customer buys.
Adaglio Sementi uses a system of 13 vertical silos with a total capacity of approximately 5,000 tons. In addition, since 2009, we also use a modern and innovative method of storing cereals on the ground, called Silo Bag.
The use of silos bags drastically reduces the need for conservative chemical treatments on seeds. Thanks to it, Adaglio Sementi guarantees respect for the environment and the certainty of a product of high quality and integrity. This system allows us to store barley, wheat and triticale inside big bags, each with a maximum capacity of 2500 quintals.
